Leading Valuation Experts Partner to Form New Regional Valuation and Dispute Advisory Firm
Two of the local business community’s most well-known business valuation and dispute advisory experts have teamed up to launch a new company. Vallit Advisors, LLC has launched as a partnership between Mark W. Norris and Charles W. Rains to offer the community specialty valuation and litigation services that are in demand in the marketplace according to the founders.
“For decades, valuation work has been predominantly performed by either larger accounting firms or independent consultants,” said Norris. “However, the market has always suggested that the best service and outcomes would come from partnerships of the leading experts in the space who specialized in specific practices and staffed for specialized skill sets.”
Vallit has been created to offer that value according to the partners, who say they intend to grow the firm by seeking out other select industry recognized experts.
“Mark and I are excited for this new opportunity to work in tandem and look forward to providing our clients, whether businesses, accountants or attorneys, a range of specialized valuation, forensic accounting and dispute advisory services,” said Rains. “We have both been doing this for a long time and understand the high level of service and attention to detail that our clients require.”

Mr. Norris has over 35 years of accounting and consulting experience and over 20 years of valuation experience.
He is qualified to serve in the litigation area as a consultant and/or expert in both federal and state courts in Maryland. He specializes in business valuations, mergers & acquisitions, estate, trusts and gifts, business litigation, buying or selling a company, appraisal reports, corporate valuation services, and healthcare valuations.
Before establishing Vallit, Mr. Norris owned Chesapeake Valuation Advisors, a valuation firm operating in Baltimore, MD. After twenty-four years assisting his clients with a range of valuation services, Mr. Norris partnered with Charles W. Rains in order to establish the boutique valuation/litigation support firm Vallit.

Mr. Charles W. Rains has decades of experience performing business valuation and litigation support services, including commercial damage calculations, lost profit analyses, forensic accounting and corporate valuations, including intellectual property valuations. He has been involved in hundreds of business valuations with total appraised value in the billions of dollars, representing varying industries.

Mr. Rains founded C. W. Rains & Associates, Inc. in 2013 after working for seventeen years at several Baltimore- and Washington-based regional accounting and consulting firms.
